The NHL’s 49th All Star game was held January 24, 1999 at the Ice Palace in Tampa, Florida. This would be the final All Star game for hall of famer Wayne Gretzky. The Rangers center captained the North America team to an 8-6 victory over the World. Gretzky netted the 6th goal for the North American team and assisted on the 4th and 7th goal. His three points were a game high and earned Gretzky his third All Star game MVP award. The MVP award was a fitting conclusion to his 18th and final All Star appearance. While the North American team wore red jerseys, we were only able to secure the white 1999 “World” jersey for Wayne to sign. Gretzky has inscribed the front of this limited edition (99) “1999 ALL Star Game MVP” authentic All Star CCM jersey. Gretzky’s black signature and inscription were witnessed under UDA’s Five-Step Authentication Process.
