West averaged 6.7 assists per game in his career to go with 27.0 points and 5.8 rebounds in 932 regular season games. He led the Lakers to a championship in 1972 on a squad that also featured Wilt Chamberlain, Gail Goodrich and future Lakers head coach Pat Riley.
