Noah Hanifin was selected in the top five of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes. He was the highest rated defenseman of the draft, and there was plenty of hype around this young player. Hanifin uses his size and skill to have a significant defensive presence on the ice. Hanifin played for the U.S. National Development Team and then went on to play a season at Boston College. After being selected with the fifth overall pick, he made the team straight out of training camp and played 79 games in his rookie season.
