The 2017 Australian Open was a monumental event in the career of Serena Williams for several reasons. When she faced sister Venus in the final, it marked the first time two players at least 35 years old reached a Grand Slam singles final in the Open era. When Serena emerged victorious with a 6-4, 6-4 win, she surpassed former champion Steffi Graf with her 23rd career Grand Slam singles title. It left Serena one major away from breaking the record held by Margaret Court. The news later came out that she was approximately eight weeks pregnant when she competed in that tournament, a feat fit for a queen. Brand Jordan produced these unique Air Jordans specifically for Serena's victory. They are in the style of the Nike Flare shoes she normally wears with the iconic feel of Nike Air Jordans. Williams has autographed and inscribed 'Aussie Open '17' on these limited edition (23) red and black Nike Flare 23 shoes in silver paint pen. Her signature is on the right shoe while her inscription is on the left. Her signature and inscription are deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated's Five-Step Process.
