Details

In order to make a golf course more difficult, the course designer places sand traps near the putting green. While even the best golfers in the world sometimes struggle to get their ball out of the sand, Shanshan Feng is one of the best in the LPGA Tour at doing this. In this image from the LPGA Volvik Championship on 5/28/17, Feng hits from a green side bunker on the seventh hole during the final round at Travis Pointe Country Club in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She ended that weekend with a trophy with a one-stroke win over Minjee Lee and Park Sung-hyun. It was Feng's seventh win on the LPGA Tour. She would go on to win three events that year as she finished ranked first in the Women's World Golf Rankings, a position she would hold until April of the following year. The 24" x 16" image is matted and framed, but the ultimate addition to this piece of sports art is the golf ball physically breaking through the top layer of acrylic. It's a Titleist Pro V1X, which is the ball Feng uses on the LPGA Tour. The total approximate size is 28x20. Feng has autographed this limited edition (25) Breaking Through 'Bunker Shot' in silver paint pen. Her signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated's Five-Step Process. Product is depicted for demonstration purposes only and is subject to change without further notice.
