Alexis Lafrenière was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NHL® Entry Draft after representing Canada at the following international tournaments:
- 2018 World U18 Championships (just 16, he was the youngest player selected to the team)
- 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup (Team Captain, Gold Medalist)
- 2019 World Junior (U20) Ice Hockey Championships (youngest player selected to the team)
- 2020 World Junior (U20) Ice Hockey Championships (MVP, Gold Medalist)
Alexis recorded 297 points (114 G, 183 A) in 173 career regular season games for QMJHL’s Rimouski Océanic, was named the 2018-19 and 2019-20 CHL Player of the Year (Lafrenière & Sidney Crosby are the only players ever to win the honor twice), is a three-time selection to the QMJHL First All-Star Team, won 2017-18 CHL Rookie of the Year, and became the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 QMJHL Entry Draft.
