Details
On February 13, 2016, one of the most memorable NBA Slam Dunk Contests, especially in recent memory, took place in Toronto. After a total score of 94 in the first round, Aaron Gordon advanced to the final round, where he went toe to toe with defending slam dunk champion Zach Lavine. Gordon, then with the Orlando Magic received a perfect 50 on each of his final round dunks, with the second one involving him jumping over the Magic’s mascot while putting the ball beneath his legs before dunking. However, Lavine also received two scores of 50, meaning the two would go into a tie-breaker. Both dunkers again received perfect scores of 50, which sent them to a second tie-breaker. Despite a score of 47 on another impressive dunk from Gordon, Lavine’s 50 just beat him out as Lavine took home his second straight Slam Dunk Contest title. Gordon and Lavine’s battle to the end is recognized as one of the best NBA Slam Dunk Contests ever and is still talked about to this day.
This image is autographed by Aaron Gordon with a silver paint pen. Gordon’s signature was witnessed by an Upper Deck Authenticated representative as part of UDA’s 5-step authentication process.
