As AEW has continued to grow in its first few years, the promotion has made a lot of big splashes with the talent it has been able to attract. Another big signing came in 2022 when Athena came aboard and was instantly welcomed as a fan favorite. After being introduced to wrestling as a young child by her grandfather and eventually beginning training as an 18-year-old, she had about 15 years of experience under her belt before joining AEW. In the last year, Athena has been on a dominant run that has resulted in an overall record of 35-5, including an 11-0 record in singles matches so far in 2023. She is also the current Women’s World Championship in AEW’s sister promotion, Ring of Honor. Athena looks to be a big name for years to come who will only get better with more experience.
