The 2022-2023 NBA season was a pivotal year for Garland and the Cleveland Cavaliers. That season was Garland’s first time making the playoffs in his four seasons with the team. Garland was drafted to the Cavaliers the year after they won 50 games and lost in the Finals. In his first two seasons in Cleveland, he only won 19 games each year.  He was a crucial element to the rebuild and in only his fourth season with the Cavs, he was able to help them win 51 games and find themselves back in the playoffs.
