After a dominant senior year, Derek Lively became one of the country's most anticipated high school recruits. Lively suited up for Westtown School, where he flashed his impressive skill set to college scouts. He averaged 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 4.5 blocks per game in his final year. His outstanding efforts led Westtown to a 31-7 record and a victory in the 2022 Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association State Championship. His success quickly helped him become the number one player in ESPN’s class of 2022. Lively was also recognized as the 2021-2022 Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year. The five star center received over 20 offers from many high caliber schools and ultimately decided to take his talents to Duke University. Lively will look to become the next NBA superstar to suit up as a Blue Devil.
