It was serendipitous when a friend of teenage Elodie Yung suggested she try acting in commercials to make money. Yung was on her way to a career in law, one which eventually saw her earn a law degree from the University of Paris. But the acting bug never left her side once she started consistently hitting casting calls. Her first role was in a French television drama “La vie devant nous,” which was a show about high school students. When her role ended on the show, she went back to studying law. However, her love for the craft of acting never went away. At the age of 29, she moved to London to study acting for a year. She soon landed her first big screen role as the girlfriend of heroine Lisbeth Salander in the 2011 film, “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.” It started her on a path to gaining roles as a complex action character.
