Sting has long been known as “The Icon” dating well back before his AEW days, and it is a very fitting nickname. It is not just a testament to his decades-long Hall-of-Fame career, but also because he was the face of many different promotions over that span. In a sport full of feuds and rivalries, Sting has won the respect of many other top wrestlers from his time. With his long-standing career, so many up and coming wrestlers over the years have looked up to him and have tried to be like him, with his young following being known as “Little Stingers.” His iconic career has been recognized with a record-sharing four Most Popular Wrestler of the Year awards by Pro Wrestling Illustrated. Given his age, fans didn’t know what type of role to expect once Sting signed with AEW, but the veteran has exceeded expectations while showing he still has talent and athleticism in the tank.
