Green, a the No.2 overall pick in the 2021 draft, shook the basketball world when he announced he was skipping college and joining the G League. Green had received offers from well-known NCAA teams such as Oregon, Kentucky, Auburn, and Memphis before joining the G League. Green was born and raised in Central California. He played most of his high school basketball at San Joaquin Memorial High in Fresno, Cali., then he transferred to Prolific Prep High in Napa, Calif., for his senior year. Green averaged 31.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and five assists. He broke the team single season scoring record with 1,008 points. Green has also won three gold medals with USA Basketball and was named MVP of the 2018 FIBA under-17 Basketball World Cup.
