Jalen Johnson has turned a lot of heads since entering the NBA in 2021 and has only continued to get better. A big part of what makes the young Atlanta Hawks forward special is his athleticism that allows him to elevate and get to the rim. Johnson has made a name for himself for his high-flying, flashy dunks that he has in his back pocket at any point of a game. It became an even bigger part of his game in the 2023-24 season, as he more than doubled his dunk total from the year before with 98 in only 56 games. In the next season, he kept a similar pace in the 2024 portion with 53 dunks through 31 games before the year turned. His leaping ability has not only helped his offensive game, but his rebounding too. Johnson saw a similar soar in his rebounding numbers in 2023-24 as he grabbed 8.7 rebounds per game, over double the production from the season before. He also saw an improvement to begin 2024-25, with an average of 10.2 rebounds per game in the 2024 part of the schedule. The way Johnson’s athleticism and leaping ability has translated to his success shows why he is seen as a big part of the Hawks’ future to come.
