The forward from Duke was a consensus top 15 recruit coming out of high school and played well enough in his lone college season to earn the first-round selection. Johnson is known for his athleticism and has multiple facets to his game, with good scoring and rebounding ability as well as the ability to defend all positions. Hawks fans saw Johnson break out and reach his potential in the 2023-24 season as his role with the team increased. He recorded career-highs across the board with 16 points per game, 8.7 rebounds per game, 3.6 assists per game and 1.2 steals per game. Johnson’s career high for points per game improved by double digits and he became one of the most important players in the Hawks’ rotation. Jalen Johnson has the ability to establish himself as a household name in the NBA for years to come.
