A consensus five-star recruit out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Justin Edwards showed the basketball world just what he was capable of when the Wildcats played the 13th ranked Alabama Crimson Tide on February 24, 2024. It was Edwards’ best game of his college career as he would go a perfect 10 for 10 from the field and lead Kentucky with a career high 28 points in a 117-95 victory. The breakout game earned him SEC Co-Freshman of the week honors. Edwards would help lead Kentucky to a 23-9 overall record and a 3 seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament. In the first-round game Edwards would play 15 minutes and score 10 points. Following the season, Edwards would decide to forego another year of college and declare for the 2024 NBA Draft.
