With basketball in his blood, Keon Johnson was destined to reach the NBA. The Phoenix Suns guard got the basketball itch from his mother, Conswella, who was named Tennessee Miss Basketball two times in her division in high school. She went on to play college basketball at Auburn and twice made the All-SEC team. Keon followed directly in her footsteps as he was twice named Tennessee Mr. Basketball in his division before playing college basketball in the SEC. In his one season as a Tennessee Volunteer, he was named to the SEC All-Freshman team. Conswella passed on her basketball skills early on, as Keon would practice with the fifth- and sixth-grade teams she coached when he was only five years old. He would continue his trajectory as a basketball star into high school, where he became a five-star recruit. Eventually, Johnson’s dream was achieved when his name was called during the first round of the 2021 NBA Draft.
