Kerri Walsh Jennings was born in Santa Clara, California, and spent her years growing up in different parts of Northern California. While at Archbishop Mitty High School in San Jose, the standout volleyball player had an all-time run with three state championships and the Gatorade National High School Player of the Year, leading her to be the number one volleyball recruit in the nation her senior year. Walsh Jennings continued her dominance in college at Stanford University, where she was a four-time first-team All-American, two-time National Champion (including a Final Four MVP), and co-National Player of the Year. She made the transition to beach volleyball in 2001, where she partnered with Misty May-Treanor to form the greatest duo of all-time and cement her status as a volleyball legend. In addition to the team honors and records the team accomplished, Walsh Jennings achieved many individual accolades. In the AVP, she won Best Offensive Player in 2003, Best Blocker in 2008 and MVP in 2003 and 2004 while also winning many international awards. Walsh Jennings put together a beach volleyball career that ranks her among the greatest to ever play.
