When you think of women’s beach volleyball players, the first two that come to mind are likely Kerri Walsh Jennings and Misty May-Treanor. The duo teamed up in 2001 and did nothing but dominate opponents in their careers no matter where they played. They signed with the AVP tour in 2003 and went on a run no one has ever seen before or since. Walsh Jennings also saw her fair share of individual accolades on the AVP tour. The beach volleyball great won the award for Best Offensive Player in 2003 while also winning MVP in back-to-back years in 2003 and 2004. She later won the award for Best Blocker in 2008. Walsh Jennings played a huge part in the duo’s record-setting 112 match winning streak. This partnership set the landscape for women’s beach volleyball for years to come and they are known as the best pair to ever play the game.
