Team sports are at their best when teammates are in sync, and it’s hard to find a pair that was more consistently in perfect sync than Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings. Watching this duo in action was like poetry in motion. Opposing teams needed to bring their A-game to even have a chance to beat May-Treanor and Walsh Jennings, and most of the time that still was not enough. The two went on a run that was among the most dominant in sports and established themselves as the greatest to ever play beach volleyball. They racked up many individual accomplishments as well as their team accomplishments including numerous tournament victories, a record 112 match win streak, six AVP Team of the Year awards, and two Sportswoman of the Year Awards. May-Treanor and Walsh Jennings changed the game of beach volleyball forever and there may not be a team as successful again.
