The 1990s and 2000s saw a new wave of NBA superstars usher in a new generation. Among the best of those was power forward Kevin Garnett. At just 19 years old, the South Carolina native debuted with the Minnesota Timberwolves after making the jump from high school and being drafted fifth overall in the 1995 NBA Draft. KG burst onto the scene and showed he belonged right away on the way to being dominant. In 2003, Garnett was the All-Star Game MVP before being named MVP of the 2003-04 regular season the next year, while leading the Timberwolves to the best season in franchise history. He was traded in 2007 to the Boston Celtics where he would play for six seasons, including a memorable first year. In the 2007-08 season Garnett helped lead Boston to a league best 66-16 record on his way to his first career NBA Championship. The Big Ticket would later play for the Brooklyn Nets before making a return to Minnesota to finish out his career. Garnett is still among the all-time top 20 in points, blocks, and steals, while being in the top 10 in rebounds and the most ever defensive rebounds since the statistic was recorded. His accomplishments were recognized in 2020 when Kevin Garnett got inducted into the Hall of Fame.
