Tinker Hatfield designed the Jordan XII, which first appeared in 1996. The Air Jordan 12 was inspired by Japanese culture, notably a traditional women's fashion shoe known as the "Nisshoki." The Air Jordan 12 also featured the first Zoom Air unit. Since its debut in 1997, this colorway has resurfaced three times in retro form, and Nike has released several versions of the Air Jordan 12. During game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals against the Utah Jazz became remembered as "The Flu Game." Michael Jordan played despite having flu-like symptoms. Jordan led all scorers with 38 points, seven rebounds and five assists including a big 3-pointer with 25 seconds left that put Chicago up for good. The Bulls won Game 6 in Chicago, capturing their fifth NBA title in seven years. These sneakers are still remembered as one of the most iconic Air Jordan 12s of all time.
