Details

In October of 2011 Naomi Osaka played her first qualifying match for the ITF Women’s circuit.  While she was able to notch prominent victories in the years to come including upsetting then #19 Samantha Stosur in her tour level debut at the 2014 Stanford Classic and having a successful 2016 where she won WTA Newcomer of the Year, she had her biggest breakthrough in 2018.  Her victory at the Indian Wells Open in March of 2018 included wins over two top 5 opponents (Karolina Pliskova and Simona Halep), but that was only a prelude of what was to come. Later that year at the 2018 US Open she won her first Grand Slam title defeating Serena Williams in the final 6-2, 6-4, it was her second victory over her childhood idol that year as she had previously beaten Williams at the Miami Open in March. The 2018 US Open was Naomi Osaka’s beginning to stardom as she would go on to win grand slams in each of the next three years. Osaka has autographed & inscribed ‘Phenomenal Effort’ on this limited edition (18) 24x20 designed image in black paint pen. Her signature and inscription are deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five-Step Process.
