Details
One of the biggest surprises of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft came on draft night when Peter Forsberg was drafted in the 1st Round (6th overall) by the Philadelphia Flyers. Many people, including Forsberg himself, believed that he would be drafted in either the second or third round; the Flyers current GM Russ Farwell defended the pick and claimed time would prove him right. 20 years later, as Forsberg would play his final NHL game with the Avalanche on February 12, 2011, Farwell was proven right. Forsberg’s number was retired by the Avalanche on Opening Night of the 2011-2012 season, he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2014, something almost no one would have expected back in 1991 from a projected 2nd or 3rd Round pick.
This p-velvet archival paper is autographed by Peter Forsberg. Forsberg’s signature was witnessed by an Upper Deck representative as part of UDA’s 5-step authentication process. This item is not limited.
