When the Nuggets drafted Peyton Watson in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft they viewed him as a long-term project, a player that with his toolset could develop into a star but would need to spend some time to develop in the G-League. In his short time playing with the Nuggets Watson has already shown the organization what he is capable of. After playing just 23 games with the Nuggets in the 2022-23 season Watson played a career high 80 games for the Nuggets during the 2023-24 season posting career highs in minutes (18.6 mpg), rebounds (3.2 rpg), and points (6.7 ppg). He also saw more time in the postseason appearing in 10 games and posting postseason career highs in minutes (9 mpg), rebounds (1.5 rpg) and points (1.8 ppg). As the Nuggets look to get back to their championship form in 2024-25 Peyton Watson should be a permanent figure on Denver’s roster.
