During his early years of playing basketball Peyton Watson would draw a considerable amount of attention while being named to several different awards. Watson was a consensus five-star recruit during high school and was named to the rosters for the McDonalds All-American Team, Jordan Brand Classic, and Nike Hoop Summit. After spending a year at UCLA Watson would be drafted in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft and would spend time with both the Denver Nuggets and the Nuggets’ G-League team the Grand Rapids Gold, finishing the 2022-23 season and postseason with the Nuggets. In winning the NBA title in his rookie season Peyton Watson joined a list including NBA greats Magic Johnson, Bill Russell, and Manu Ginobili to win NBA titles their rookie season.
