In the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft Peyton Watson was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder and immediately traded to the Denver Nuggets. In the coming season Watson would make the NBA roster as he would open the season with the Denver Nuggets making his debut on Opening Night on October 19, 2022. While Watson would spend much of his first professional season going back and forth between the Nuggets and their G-League affiliate the Grand Rapids Gold the future is bright for the five star recruit and former All-American. In his time with the Gold over two seasons he has averaged over 20 points per game and over 7 rebounds per game. Forcing his way into NBA action with his performance Watson played a career high 27 minutes in a game vs the Phoenix Suns on March 31, 2023.  Two days later he played another 20 minutes and showcased his defensive skills with a highlight reel block of Steph Curry.
