Representing Team Canada is a dream all young hockey players in Canada share growing up. This is no exception to Quinton Byfield, who hails from Newmarket, Ontario. The Los Angeles Kings forward had his first experience of international play in 2018 by playing for Team Canada Black in the World U-17 Hockey Challenge and then in 2019 he represented Canada in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup. This experience set him up to represent Team Canada on the highest stage of international junior hockey, the World Junior Championships. Byfield competed in his first WJC in 2020, where he helped lead Team Canada to a gold medal. The next year in 2021, he shined even more in the WJC, as he scored seven points in seven games of the tournament – two goals and five assists. Team Canada had another successful run that year as they won the silver medal, giving Byfield a medal in both World Junior Championships he participated in.
