Byfield competed in his first World Junior Championships in 2020, where he helped lead Team Canada to a gold medal. The next year in 2021, he shined even more in the WJC, as he scored seven points in seven games of the tournament – two goals and five assists. Team Canada had another successful run that year as they won the silver medal, giving Byfield a medal in both World Junior Championships he participated in. Now a rising star for the Los Angeles Kings, Byfield has the ability to one day represent Team Canada on a professional level in the Olympics.
