Details

The 2009 season saw the New Orleans Saints go off to the best start in franchise history, and one of the best in NFL history. Once they got to 8-0 the franchise record was broken, but they did not stop there, as their winning streak hit 13 games, an NFC record to start a season at the time. New Orleans’ 13-3 record was the best in team history at the time and they entered the playoffs as the top seed in the NFC, earning a first round bye and home field advantage. With the help of running back Reggie Bush, the Saints kept rolling in the playoffs. The former first-round draft pick extended the lead with a 46-yard first quarter rushing touchdown, then later returned a punt 83 yards for a touchdown to help take down the Arizona Cardinals. In the NFC Championship game against the Minnesota Vikings, Bush caught a touchdown for 5 yards to break a 21-21 tie in the fourth quarter before the Saints would go on to win in overtime. Behind Bush’s 63 yards from scrimmage, New Orleans defeated the Indianapolis Colt 31-17 in Super Bowl XLIV to take home the franchise’s first ever championship.

This Sports Illustrated cover print is autographed by Reggie Bush. Bush’s signature was witnessed by an Upper Deck representative as part of UDA’s 5-step authentication process.
