Shane Wright would make his NHL Debut with the Seattle Kraken on October 12, 2022, only a few months after the highly anticipated 2022 NHL Entry Draft which saw the Kraken select him with the 4th overall pick of the draft. In Wright’s 8th NHL game he would score his 1st goal against the Montreal Canadiens. At 18 years and 335 days old Wright became one of the younger players to score his 1st NHL goal doing it younger than current NHL stars Jack Eichel, Leon Draisaitl, and Auston Matthews. A month later Shane Wright would captain Team Canada in the 2023 IIHF World Juniors Championships, helping lead the team to a gold medal.
