Shane Wright would make his international debut playing for Team Canada’s U-18 team at the 2021 World U18 Championships. The tournament was a success for Wright as he would finish second in the tournament scoring race with 14 points (9 goals and 5 assists) in 5 games played. Wright would score 2 goals in the tournament final against Russia in a 5-3 Canada win to help secure a gold medal for Canada. Wright would later play in the 2023 World Junior Championships, a tournament he was named captain of. In the tournament, Wright would score 4 goals and 3 assists (7 points) in 7 games including a goal in the gold medal game as Canada would defeat Czechia 3-2 in overtime for gold, his second gold medal.
