From the very beginning of her life, Sky Brown has worked towards being the trick artist she is with a skateboard. The Miyazaki, Japan native first learned to skate from her skateboarder father and grew up practicing at the skatepark at her preschool and the ramp in her back garden. Instead of having a skateboarding coach, Brown elected to learn her tricks on YouTube. Her methods paid off as she found herself in serious competition at record-breaking ages. At 8 years old, Brown became the youngest competitor ever in the Vans US Open, before becoming the youngest professional skateboarder in the world a couple of years later at age 10. Her success in competitions led to her earning a spot on the Great Britain Olympic team for the 2020 Summer Olympics, and at just 13 years old she became the youngest British Summer Olympian ever. Brown then became the youngest medal winner ever for Great Britain when she took home the bronze medal in the park competition. She repeated this accomplishment in the 2024 games, further cementing herself as one of the best skateboarders in the world.
