Details
For the first time ever in our memorabilia product line Upper Deck is proud to present this signed replica retirement banner of Willie O’Ree. This 28”x40” replica banner features the identical artwork of the actual banner of O’Ree that currently hangs above in the rafters at TD Garden. Willie O’Ree played for the Bruins for a total of 45 games, and while he wore three different numbers, he wore number 22 for the majority of his time with the Bruins (34 of his 45 games played with the team). O’Ree was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on January 18, 2018, 60 years to the day of his NHL debut. O’Ree also scored the NHL’s first goal by a black player when he scored his first NHL goal on January 1, 1961. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame as a builder, recognizing him for his contributions to hockey off the ice.
This 28”x40” replica retirement banner is autographed by Willie O’Ree. O’Ree’s signature was witnessed by an Upper Deck representative as part of UDA’s 5-step authentication process.
