Details
It is very rare to find an athlete in any sport that has the talent and ability to compete at the highest level for 20 years, yet that was just what Mike Tyson did in boxing. While there were ups and downs, Tyson was able to consistently display that he could compete at the sport’s highest level throughout his entire career. Tyson would win his first heavyweight title in 1986 at the age of 20, a little over a year after his professional debut. Just over 7 months later, in 1987, Tyson would defeat Tony Tucker in a unanimous decision, making him the first heavyweight fighter to own the WBA, WBC, and IBF titles, he would hold all three titles for the next three years. 1996 was another big year for Tyson as he would regain the WBC and WBA titles by defeating Frank Bruno and Bruce Sheldon in knockouts, respectively. 2003 would provide Tyson with the final victory of his career, a first-round knockout of Clifford Etienne, a right-hand jab that would knock down Etienne and end the match after just 49 seconds.
This image is autographed by Mike Tyson. Tyson’s signature was witnessed by an Upper Deck representative as part of UDA’s 5-step authentication process. This item is limited to 75.
