Details
There used to be a myth that circulated around the boxing world that Mike Tyson had to register his hands as lethal weapons, and while there is no law requiring Tyson or any professional wrestler to register their hands as lethal weapons, perhaps there should have been for Tyson. The “Heavyweight King”, Tyson has built one of the most successful Hall of Fame boxing careers in history. Tyson would make a name for himself early by winning gold medals at age 15 and 16 at the 1981 and 1982 Junior Olympic Games. Outside of the Olympics Tyson would become the youngest heavyweight world champion in the sport’s history on November 22, 1986 when he defeated Trevor Berbick in Las Vegas. On August 1, 1987, Tyson would defeat Tony Tucker to become the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion (the first heavyweight boxer to hold the WBC, WBA, and IBF titles simultaneously), holding this reign for three years from 1987 to 1990.
This image is autographed by Mike Tyson. Tyson’s signature was witnessed by an Upper Deck Authenticated representative as part of UDA’s 5-step authentication process.
