Details
The Golden State Warriors have a long history in the Bay Area in California. When the franchise moved west from Philadelphia in 1962, they established their roots in San Francisco before moving across the bay to Oakland nine years later. In 1975 the Warriors won their first California championship in their fourth season in Oakland before winning three more in a dominant stretch in the 2010s. Another move was in store for the team in 2019 as they went back to San Francisco, where they currently reside. The 2021 NBA Draft saw Golden State select Moses Moody with the 14th overall pick. Along with the same talented core that brought the last few championships, Moody helped the Warriors win the NBA Finals in his rookie season, bringing the team its first championship in the city of San Francisco. The young shooting guard has only seen his role grow more since as the team has remained a playoff contender year-to-year. Moody has shown he represents what the Warriors are all about and contributes to the exciting team from the Bay Area.
