The San Antonio Spurs have been a model of success for many years and are considered one of the NBA’s greatest franchises. Joining the league in 1976, they are the winningest team of all-time by regular season win percentage. The Spurs have backed it up in the playoffs too, as they have won five NBA Finals. A lot of the success can be attributed to the team consistently having great players throughout their runs of winning. Now as the Spurs keep building, they have players that have potential to be the next franchise icon, and one is Keldon Johnson. The small forward out of the University of Kentucky has quickly emerged as a big offensive threat and one of the team leaders. Johnson has seen his offensive production improve each season in the NBA, with a career high of 22 points per game in 2022-23 which was the best on the team. Along with Johnson, the Spurs have built a great young core that will be tasked with carrying on San Antonio’s winning tradition.
