Details
The 2000 PGA Championship featured one of the most exciting finishes in the tournament’s history. At the center of the drama would be a young 24 year old Tiger Woods who, along with Bob May, would finish at 18 under par to set the PGA Championship record to par. The two would go to a three-hole playoff where Woods would have one of the most memorable moments of his career. On his first playoff hole Woods would sink a 20-foot right-to-left curler on the 16th green for birdie, following his shot and pointing right at the hole as the ball sunk into it. The made for Hollywood moment gave Woods all the momentum he needed as both he and May would par out the remaining holes giving Woods the one-shot advantage and securing his second consecutive PGA Championship. The back-to-back PGA Championships by Woods would mark the first time since 1937 that a PGA Championship was successfully defended.
This image is autographed by Tiger Woods. Woods’ signature was witnessed by an Upper Deck representative as part of UDA’s 5-step authentication process.
