In May of 2022, Rose Zhang made history as she became the first student-athlete to sign a name, image, and likeness deal with Adidas. This groundbreaking deal was a no-brainer, given that Zhang had an amateur career unlike any other. The now LPGA standout secured victories in all three women’s amateur major championships, the US Girls’ Junior, US Women’s Amateur, and Augusta National Women’s Amateur, with her first one coming at just age 17. Zhang’s amateur success also translated in her two years in college, where she became the first women’s golfer to win multiple NCAA individual championships and helped lead Stanford to the NCAA team championship in 2022. She won the Annika Award for top women’s college golfer both years while setting a single-season record of a 68.80 scoring average in 2023 and won the Mark H. McCormack Medal for being the top-ranked women’s amateur golfer in the world. Zhang also set the record with 141 total weeks as the number one woman in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. She has since turned professional and renewed her Adidas sponsorship while also winning her very first LPGA event at the Mizuho Americas Open in June 2023.
