Details
During his 12-season career Bobby Orr had so many accomplishments it’s difficult to list which was most significant. Among most notable was the Calder Memorial Trophy (Rookie of the Year) for the 1966-67 season, 2 Art Ross Trophies (Regular Season Points Leader), 3 Hart Memorial Trophies (Regular Season MVP), and 8 James Norris Memorial Trophies (Regular Season Top Defensive Player). Putting Orr’s Hall of Fame Career into perspective, most experts would agree that the best seasons of Orr’s career were the seasons he won the Stanley Cup, the 1969-70 season and the 1971-72 season. Along with winning the Stanley Cup during these seasons Orr would also take home the Hart Memorial Trophy, James Norris Trophy, and the Conn Smythe Trophy (Playoff MVP) for each season. In the 1972 playoffs Orr would total 24 points, a tie with his teammate Phil Esposito for the most points in the playoffs.
