No skater meant more to hockey in the 1970s than Bobby Orr. He carried the Boston Bruins to the Stanley Cup championship twice (1970, 1972), winning six Norris trophies as the league’s top defenseman in the decade (eight overall). He was selected as NHL First Team All-Star eight consecutive seasons. When the NHL needed a new face to carry the league into the global phenomenon it is currently when Orr retired, in stepped Wayne Gretzky. He ushered in the era of fast pace and amazing athletic abilities with and without the puck. Gretzky won his first Hart Memorial Trophy as league MVP when the decade began and finished his career as the most decorated skater in NHL history. He won nine Hart trophies before he was finished and brought four Stanley Cup championships to Edmonton. Orr and Gretzky have autographed this limited edition (100) “Unmatched” 20” x 24” designed image in gold paint pen. Their signatures are deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated’s Five-Step Process.
