As the third overall pick in the WHL Draft, Brayden Yager has continuously thrived under pressure. After winning the CHL Rookie of the Year Award, he hit the ice the following year on a mission to show NHL scouts why he deserves to be a top pick. Through his first 19 games of the 2022-2023 season with the Moose Jaw Warriors, Yager notched an impressive 23 points. He had six multi-point games, and of the first 19 games, there were only three without him putting up a point. Yager will look to continue this success as one of the top talents of the WHL. After becoming the first player in franchise history to win the CHL Rookie of the Year Award, Yager will also have the opportunity to be the first Warrior to be named the David Branch Player of the Year Award. While he focuses on winning a title with Moose Jaw, Yager will also have to continue to perform at a high level with all the outside pressure.
