Founded and still based today in the city of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, the Moose Jaw Warriors began their inaugural season in 1984. The franchise has produced many NHL caliber prospects including 11 first round picks going into the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. Very few of the previous 11 first round picks however have generated the kind of excitement that Brayden Yager has. Drafted in the first round by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2023, Yager has earned a reputation for his quick release and extreme accuracy while playing for the Warriors. Scouts have raved about Yager’s speed and energy and his ability to carry pucks up the ice and make skilled plays with pace. As he prepares for the NHL, Yager will continue to spend time with the Warriors in 2024 and try and help the franchise to its first WHL title.
