As Team Canada prepared for the U18 2022 Hlinka Gretzky Cup it had the decision of choosing the best 23 players in the U18 age group that Canada had to offer. Brayden Yager was not only selected to the team but was named as an Alternate Captain. Team Canada would breeze through the tournament going a perfect 5-0 to win the Gold Medal. In the five games played Yager would score 5 goals and finish with 9 points including scoring the final insurance goal in Canada’s 4-1 victory over Sweden in the gold medal game. The most notable game in the tournament for Yager came in the second game of the tournament where Yager would score two goals and add two assists in Canada’s 9-1 win over Slovakia.
