The Predators’ first-round pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Eeli Tolvanen is ready to make an impact in the league on a loaded Nashville squad. The Finnish right wing left his native country briefly to play in the United States Hockey League before returning home to play professionally with Jokerit of the Kontinental Hockey League in Finland. While with Jokerit he notched 36 points in 49 games before getting called up to the Predators late in the 2017-18 season. He made his NHL debut on 3/31 with 13 minutes of ice time. He got another chance to skate with the parent club the next season when he played in four games, notching his first goal in a 5-2 win over the Blackhawks on 12/1/18. He’s ready for his “up close.”
