Despite hockey players being most recognized for their accomplishments on their respective NHL teams, the impact that these skaters have while representing their home countries tends to generate more pride as many of them have grown up watching their all-time favorite players in the Olympics, IIHF World Championships, and a number of other international events. For Eric Lindros, this notion of performing at your best while skating for Team Canada remained the same as he registered 17 points in just 20 total Olympic games for Team Canada spanning across three different Olympic games, including the 1998 Nagano Olympics in which he was named Captain of Team Canada and the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics where he helped Team Canada defeat the U.S. to win gold.
