Winning the Stanley Cup is the ultimate goal for anyone who makes it to the NHL. Not everyone is lucky enough to reach this pinnacle of the sport, and even fewer have accomplished it multiple times, especially in the modern era since the number of teams has grown. Only 6% of players to have played hockey have achieved this feat, and Joe Sakic is one of them. His first came in the 1995-96 season, where he led the way as the most valuable player in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Sakic’s second title came on the heels of a regular season MVP campaign where the momentum carried through the playoffs and saw the Colorado Avalanche finish on top. Many players played a significant role in bringing these championships to Colorado, but it could not have been done without Sakic leading the team along the way.
