Playing 13 of his 18 NHL seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs, most of Mats Sundin’s greatest career moments came with Toronto. Sundin would play 981 total games with the Maple Leafs and would retire as the franchise leader in goals (420) and points (987). On March 10th, 2003, Sundin would backhand a goal past goalie Tommy Salo for his 31st goal of the season to give the Maple Leafs a 3-1 lead over the Oilers, the goal being the 1000th point of Sundin’s career and making him the first Swedish born player to 1,000 points. Later on in his career Mats Sundin would get his 500th career goal and do it in fashion. On October 14th, 2006, playing the Calgary Flames, Sundin would score goals 498, 499, and 500 as part of a hat trick, the final goal, his 500th career goal would come as an overtime game winner in a 5-4 win.
