There is perhaps no greater honor for both amateur and professional athletes than to represent their country in international competition. Whether it be in the Olympics or in tournament play there is a different energy and environment when playing to represent your country. Michael Misa was able to represent his home country of Canada for the first time when he donned the red and black for Team Canada Red in the 2022 Under-17 World Hockey Challenge. While Team Canada finished with a silver medal, there will be many more future opportunities for Michael Misa to represent his country and ultimately win gold as the 16 year old progresses. In his first year in the OHL playing for the Saginaw Spirit after being granted exceptional status Misa has torn up the OHL leading the OHL in points with 56 points in 45 games. His average of 1.24 points per game is the highest of any OHL exceptional status player.
